🌊 Our Story

In 2019, we arrived in Amsterdam with a simple dream: to enjoy the city, its canals, and sunny afternoons on the water.
Like many, we quickly realized that owning a boat was out of reach.
Determined not to give up, we bought a modest inflatable kayak — the K2 Explorer — for €80. Every weekend, we paddled through the canals, grateful for our little vessel.
But soon, something caught our eye: along the quays, countless boats sat unused, some even abandoned.

💡 That’s when the idea struck: what if there was a platform where boat owners could share their boats, and everyone could experience life on the water?
And so, Boatopi was born — a simple, sustainable, and accessible way to explore Amsterdam’s canals.
​We saw that renting a boat was often complicated, expensive, or limited to tourist cruises — and decided to change it.

With more than 100 kilometers of canals, the city is a floating playground waiting to be explored.
At Boatopi, our mission is to connect boat owners with people eager to discover Amsterdam’s canals in a more authentic and flexible way.
